Origin of the original woodblock handprinting


The technology of the original woobdlock handprinting has its origins in India and came in the 17th Century from England to Austria. In former time the patterns are printed by hand with molds made out of pear wood. Nowadays the pattern are made out of fine metal pins which were placed in pear wood. The manufacture Sekyra work with up to 400 molds from the last four centuries.
